Struck from 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, this collectible silver coin features an intricate unicorn design and comes presented in Scottsdale Mint's premium Alpha Strike Certi-Lock packaging.

If you are considering silver as part of a wider precious-metals strategy, our guide on gold vs silver investment in the UK covers the key comparisons.

The Alpha Strike designation identifies coins from the very first coins minted in a new programme, giving this release an additional collectible element beyond its silver content. New to silver? Our beginner's guide to investing in silver in the UK is a useful starting point.

2025 Fiji Unicorn 1oz Silver Coin

The 2025 Fiji Unicorn 1oz Silver Coin combines investment-grade silver with an elaborate fantasy-inspired design and an exceptionally limited Alpha Strike presentation.

Produced by Scottsdale Mint, the coin contains one full troy ounce of .999 fine silver, equivalent to approximately 31.103 grams of pure silver.

The unicorn has been a powerful symbol throughout mythology and folklore for centuries, traditionally associated with rarity, strength and purity.

This interpretation gives the classic mythical creature a highly detailed modern appearance, making the coin suitable for collectors looking beyond conventional bullion designs.

What Is a Scottsdale Mint Alpha Strike?

Scottsdale Mint describes its Alpha Strike coins as the very first coins minted in a new programme.

Rather than simply identifying the coin as part of the wider issue, the Alpha Strike presentation distinguishes it as belonging to the earliest production from the programme.

The accompanying Certi-Lock card for this example identifies the Alpha Strike issue as being limited to only 499 coins.

This particular coin is marked: Mint #351 of 499

For collectors, the combination of an individually identified mint number and limited Alpha Strike release gives the coin an additional element of provenance and collectability.

Unicorn Design

The centrepiece of this 2025 silver coin is its striking unicorn design.

The mythical creature is depicted in exceptional detail, surrounded by an ornate decorative border that complements the fantasy theme of the coin.

The combination of flowing hair, intricate detailing and the unmistakable unicorn horn creates a design that stands apart from more traditional investment bullion coins.

The reverse carries the coin's official Fiji inscriptions together with the 2025 date, ONE DOLLAR denomination, FIJI, .999 FINE SILVER and ONE TROY OUNCE specifications.

One Troy Ounce of .999 Fine Silver

The 2025 Fiji Unicorn contains 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver.

One troy ounce is approximately 31.103 grams, meaning the coin contains approximately 31.103g of fine silver.

This gives the coin intrinsic precious-metal value alongside its potential collector appeal.

Unlike standard mass-produced bullion, the Alpha Strike presentation adds scarcity and individual identification to the underlying silver content. See our comparison of silver coins vs silver bars for UK investors to understand where collectible coins like this sit within a broader silver strategy.

Limited to Just 499 Alpha Strike Coins

One of the standout characteristics of this product is its limited Alpha Strike mintage of only 499 coins.

The Certi-Lock packaging identifies this example specifically as: MINT #351 of 499

Low-mintage precious-metal coins can be particularly attractive to collectors who value scarcity, individual numbering and original presentation.

The Alpha Strike designation should not be confused with the total mintage of every version of the wider 2025 Fiji Unicorn issue; the 499 figure shown here relates specifically to the Alpha Strike release.

Certi-Lock Authentication

This coin is presented in Scottsdale Mint Certi-Lock packaging.

The authentication card displays key information about the individual coin, including its year, design, metal content, purity, serial number and Alpha Strike mint number.

The card also incorporates a QR code as part of the Certi-Lock system.

Keeping collectible coins together with their original authentication and presentation materials is important for maintaining provenance and collector appeal. When buying any precious-metal collectible, it is also worth reading our guide to common bullion scams and how to avoid them.

Original Scottsdale Mint Presentation

In addition to the Certi-Lock card, this example comes with its Scottsdale Mint presentation sleeve, featuring the mint's distinctive crowned lion branding.

The combination of the coin, Certi-Lock card and Scottsdale Mint presentation sleeve makes this a particularly attractive piece for collectors or as a precious-metal gift.
