The Royal Mint Norse Gods Loki Silver Bar

The Loki 1 oz Silver Bar is the third and final design in The Royal Mint's Norse Gods series, following previous releases dedicated to Odin and Thor.

Loki is one of the most complex characters in Norse mythology. Known for his intelligence, cunning, shapeshifting and mischievous nature, he acts as both an ally and adversary to the gods of Asgard.

The intricate design portrays Loki sitting amongst the branches of a tree while Jörmungandr, the giant Midgard Serpent, coils beneath his feet.

Loki is also shown holding a sprig of mistletoe, referencing his role in the death of Baldr and the events that ultimately lead towards Ragnarök.

Loki – The Norse God of Mischief

Loki is one of the most recognisable figures in Norse mythology and is renowned for his cunning, unpredictable and mischievous character.

The Royal Mint's design captures this personality through a highly detailed depiction of Loki sitting amongst the branches with a mischievous expression.

Beneath him is Jörmungandr, one of Loki's monstrous children and the enormous serpent said in Norse mythology to encircle Midgard.

Loki also holds the mistletoe associated with the death of Baldr, an important event within Norse mythology that contributes to the coming of Ragnarök.

The combination of these symbolic elements creates a silver bullion bar with considerable visual and collector appeal.

Third and Final Bar in The Royal Mint Norse Gods Series

The Loki silver bar completes The Royal Mint's Norse Gods bullion bar collection.

The series consists of:

• Odin

• Thor

• Loki

This makes Loki particularly interesting for collectors looking to complete the full Royal Mint Norse Gods silver bar series.

The combination of a recognised British mint, a popular mythology theme and a finite bullion series gives these bars appeal beyond their underlying precious metal content.

1 Troy Ounce of 999.9 Fine Silver

Each Royal Mint Loki silver bar contains:

1 Troy Ounce of 999.9 Fine Silver

Equivalent to approximately:

31.1 grams of fine silver

The 1 oz format is one of the most widely recognised sizes for physical silver bullion, allowing investors to build their silver holdings in convenient individual units.

Why Buy a 1 oz Silver Bar?

A 1 oz silver bar provides an accessible and flexible way to own physical silver.

The smaller format enables investors to build their silver holdings gradually rather than purchasing a much larger bullion bar at once. Learn more in our guide to how to invest in silver for beginners in the UK.

Individual 1 oz bars can also provide greater flexibility when the time comes to sell, as investors can potentially sell individual ounces rather than disposing of a larger silver holding in one transaction.

For collectors, specially designed bars such as the Royal Mint Loki 1 oz Silver Bar combine intrinsic precious metal content with detailed artwork and a recognisable bullion series.

Buying Physical Silver in the UK

Physical silver provides investors with direct ownership of a tangible precious metal.

Investors may choose silver as part of a diversified precious metals portfolio, as a long-term physical asset or to gain exposure to movements in the international silver price. See how silver compares in our Gold vs Silver Investment in the UK (2026) guide.

Silver also has extensive industrial applications alongside global investment demand.

Silver bullion can be purchased in several formats, including 1 oz silver bars, larger silver investment bars and silver bullion coins.
